Final Encore

Tehran 1958, in one of Tehran’s old neighborhood, Shemiran, a house was being built, a house for a couple with two children. Building a house brick by brick was fast, roof on the first floor and then second floor, windows, doors, well, electricity, and then the pool painted blue. At the end, a tree was planted in the garden. The old tree has seen the coming and going of many seasons…Every day on the streets of our city, Tehran, a house is being demolished. A house that one day was designed based on all architecture principals; aesthetics, and our needs. Final Encore pays homage to one of those old houses that is waiting to be pulled down. Artists have gathered in this house and created works to pay a last tribute to it as a representative of historical houses of the city.
